CORPORATE HISTORY
NOVA Scientific focuses on the basic science and technology underlying the detection and subsequent amplification of charged particles such as ions and electrons, uncharged particles such as neutrons and neutrals, and photons at X-ray, ultraviolet, and gamma ray energies. Our detection systems are directed to specific sensing applications combined with electron multiplication and state-of-the-art electronic readouts.
The company is developing innovative technology through government agency and private corporation contracts, and has been awarded numerous SBIR contracts through Phase II, and into Phase III as well. NOVA has also introduced a product line of high-resolution neutron imaging detectors and neutron collimators to research organizations worldwide.
The current staff, together with several closely affiliated scientists, provides a great deal of expertise in detector technology development. Additionally, the company integrates outside subcontractors and vendors to perform work on various mechanical, optical, machining, and metrology tasks. The company occupies office and laboratory space in Sturbridge, MA, an hour west of Boston, MA in the United States, with facilities oriented towards device processing and prototype hardware construction.
NOVA has established strong relationships with several university-based as well as government laboratories, to enhance the depth of our measurement and support capabilities, and to provide valuable input for product conceptualization and further direction.
